Víctor Sandoval Sanzana, president of PymeMad Biobío-Ñuble and coordinator of the Futuro Madero network, presented before the executive director of the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), Aída Baldini, and the executive director of the Forestry Institute (INFOR), Gabriel Valenzuela, the work carried out during this year by the forestry sector unions that make up the network.

Also participating in the meeting were Alejandro Casagrande, regional president of the Chilean Wood Corporation (CORMA) Biobío-Ñuble, and Daniela Espinoza, manager of the Chilean Biomass Association (AChBIOM), representing their respective unions.

During the session, the main topics and challenges that the sector promotes jointly were addressed: forestry promotion, prevention and fighting of forest fires, wood construction, safety measures, biomass, and native forest. These are matters that directly impact the operation of small and medium-sized wood companies, especially in a context of structural crisis in the sector that has steadily reduced the number of sawmills in the southern macrozone.

"We value this working instance with CONAF and INFOR, because it allows us to share perspectives, raise the challenges we face as a sector, and move forward on concrete proposals that contribute to the development and strengthening of forestry activity," said Sandoval.

Sandoval's participation in this instance reaffirms PymeMad's commitment to representing small and medium-sized wood companies before sector authorities, contributing the voice of small and medium-sized industrialists to the dialogue on the country's forestry future.
