Lorena Vargas Reyes, national vice president of PymeMad, and Fernando Rosselot Téllez, vice president of PymeMad Maule, represented the trade association at the Chile–LATAM Business Meeting, organized by ProChile in Bogotá, Colombia.

The PymeMad delegation joined the forestry sector working group "LATAM Wood Futures: wood construction, productivity, and forestry sustainability," a forum that brought together trade associations and institutions from both countries, including the Chilean Wood Corporation (CORMA), the Center of Excellence for the Wood Industry (CIM-CENAMAD), and the Chilean Biomass Association, and, on the Colombian side, the National Federation of Wood Industrials (FEDEMADERAS) and the Colombian Chamber of Construction (CAMACOL) through its Bogotá and Cundinamarca regional branch, as well as representatives from academia and local companies in the sector.

The program also included field visits to wood processing companies for furniture and construction, business matchmaking sessions with international buyers, and meetings between Chilean trade associations and the National Association of Businessmen of Colombia (ANDI).

"We are creating a space for meeting and collaboration between companies and trade associations from Chile and Colombia, driven by ProChile Ñuble, to share experiences and open new cooperation opportunities," highlighted Vargas Reyes. The leader added that the forestry working group "allows us to discuss the major challenges facing our sector, especially in social and environmental matters, and how, from the forestry industry, we can contribute with solutions, innovation, and good practices that support the sustainable development of our territories."

The participation of Vargas Reyes and Rosselot in this forum reaffirms PymeMad's commitment to the internationalization of Chilean wood SMEs and the building of cooperation networks that strengthen the sector's sustainable development.
