Hernán Muñoz Bernal, national president of PymeMad, and Víctor Sandoval, regional president of Biobío-Ñuble, participated on May 7 in the meeting held in Santiago with the Minister of Economy and his advisory team, an event that brought together the forestry sector guilds grouped in the Futuro Madera network.

The meeting, held at 10:30 a.m., opened a space for dialogue between the forestry-wood sector and the Ministry of Economy, in a context where wood SMEs face structural challenges that require coordination with the State to sustain regional productive activity.

During the meeting, five priority areas were addressed: the reactivation of wood SMEs and mitigation of rising costs, the promotion of wood construction, forestry development, modernization of sectoral permits, and the development of carbon credits and climate financing for multipurpose forestry projects.

As part of the next steps, discussions were held on the joint development of a work plan with short-, medium-, and long-term measures, as well as a potential visit by the minister to forestry regions, an instance that would allow firsthand knowledge of the reality of wood SMEs and the challenges of the territory.

"We are hopeful, we trust in this process, and we believe we can do many things together," said the national president of PymeMad, Hernán Muñoz Bernal, at the end of the meeting.

The participation of Muñoz Bernal and Sandoval in this instance reaffirms PymeMad's commitment to representing small and medium-sized wood enterprises before the authorities, contributing to the sectoral dialogue on the future of the country's forestry-wood sector.
