PymeMad was represented by its national vice president, Lorena Vargas, and the regional president of Biobío-Ñuble, Víctor Sandoval, in a meeting with the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Economy of the Ñuble region, coordinated together with the Chilean Wood Corporation (CORMA) within the framework of the Futuro Madera network.

The meeting addressed the strategic pillars promoted by Futuro Madera for the development of the sector in the region: prevention of forest fires, promotion of plantations for small and medium-sized forest owners, and the push for sustainable timber construction, both in social housing and public infrastructure.

"It is essential that regional economic authorities understand the contribution of the forestry sector to sustainable development. The timber industry drives the local economy and offers opportunities to move towards innovative solutions aligned with environmental care," Vargas emphasized.

The meeting enabled a direct dialogue with the regional economic authority about the sector's needs, particularly the importance of revitalizing the activity of the small and medium-sized timber industry through sustainable construction and access to productive development instruments.

Sandoval contributed the perspective from PymeMad Biobío-Ñuble on the concrete needs of the local timber entrepreneurs.

PymeMad's participation before the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Economy reaffirms the guild's commitment to public-private collaboration to strengthen the forestry-timber productive ecosystem in Ñuble.
