Víctor Sandoval Sanzana, president of PymeMad Biobío-Ñuble, participated in Session No. 34/A3 of the Executive Committee of the CORFO Regional Strategic Program Biobío Madera, held on Tuesday, March 17, at the facilities of CMPC in Mulchén and Arauco in Cholguán, Yungay.
The event, organized by the Regional Strategic Program Biobío Madera of the Production Development Corporation (CORFO), combined a formal session of the Executive Committee with a technical visit to two of the most relevant processing plants in the southern macro-zone.
At the CMPC Plant in Mulchén, attendees reviewed on-site the certification processes, mechanical classification, and the impregnation plants using Organic Solvent (LOSP) and micronized copper, technologies used both in large companies and in the SME segment. Session No. 34 of the Executive Committee took place at the same venue, linking strategic debate with direct observation of production processes.
The delegation also visited the CMPC Corporate Building in Los Ángeles—a 6,000 m² property that validates the use of wood in public works—the Fibralab laboratory, and the fire monitoring center. The day concluded with a visit to the Arauco Hilam Plant in Cholguán, where projects built with beams and CLT were presented.
"The activity was impeccable, with very good attendance. The governance members managed to see the production units and understand the structural wood production processes, which is very positive for those who are not 100% familiar with the world of wood. We hope that during the year we can also visit SME production plants, to have a more cross-cutting view of how the ecosystem works," highlighted Sandoval.
Sandoval's participation in this instance reaffirms the commitment of PymeMad Biobío-Ñuble to the technical strengthening of the sector and its active presence in the spaces for articulation between SMEs and large forestry companies in the region.
