Víctor Sandoval, president of PymeMad Biobío, represented the guild at the event, an instance that included PymeMad among the organizations that supported its realization, together with CORMA, A.G. Met Biobío and ASEM.
The meeting was organized by the Chamber of Production and Commerce of Biobío (CPC Biobío) and the Center for Industry 4.0 (C4i) of the University of Concepción, with the collaboration of Huachipato and the Corporation for the Promotion of Production (CORFO). The presence of the Guild Association of Small and Medium-Sized Timber Enterprises (PymeMad) among the entities that backed the activity confirms the place that the timber SME occupies in the regional productive agenda.
The event opened with words from Álvaro Ananías, president of CPC Biobío; Pablo Aqueveque, director of C4i; and Humberto Miguel, president of ASEM Biobío. Then the productivity study on SMEs in Chile prepared by McKinsey & Company was presented, led by Jaime Szigethi, along with the results of the Local Purchase Pulse together with the Biobío Industrial Connection Platform, a tool aimed at linking supplier SMEs with large companies in the region.
One of the central milestones was the groundbreaking ceremony of C4i as a Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0, with the participation of José Mujica, executive vice president of CORFO. The activity closed with industrial networking work tables between SMEs and corporates, based on the results of the Local Purchase Pulse.
With its support for this meeting, PymeMad reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that the timber SMEs of Biobío are part of the local purchasing of the region's large industry, and not only occasional suppliers to it.
Alone we are SMEs. Together we are PymeMad.
