Hernán Muñoz Bernal, national president of PymeMad A.G., attended by invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the ceremony led by the President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, and Foreign Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna, held at La Moneda Palace.

Choose Chile is the international positioning platform promoted by the Foreign Ministry, which seeks to strengthen the country's image abroad, attract foreign investment and qualified human capital, and open new commercial opportunities for the Chilean export offering. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the proposal is based on three attributes: the country's natural conditions, the capabilities and infrastructure to transform them into concrete opportunities, and the trust provided by clear rules and stability for long-term investments.

The event, held in the Patio de los Cañones of La Moneda, brought together Government authorities, parliamentarians, ambassadors, representatives of business associations, multinational companies and members of the academic and scientific community. In his speech, Foreign Minister Pérez Mackenna stated that the platform's objective is to attract investment, business, technology, talent and tourism, and to promote a more diversified export offering with greater added value.

During the ceremony, the first Choose Chile Summit was also announced, organized by ProChile and InvestChile, which will take place between March 15 and 19, 2027 and includes sectoral roundtables in Santiago and visits to regions. Among the strategic sectors identified for Maule, Ñuble, Biobío and Los Ríos is forestry, a territory where PymeMad's associative base is concentrated.

For the association, the presence of its national president at an instance of this nature allows small and medium-sized timber companies to be part of the conversation on investment and foreign trade, alongside the country's major business actors.

Muñoz Bernal's participation in this instance reaffirms PymeMad's commitment to the international projection of the timber SME and to ensuring that investment and foreign trade opportunities also reach companies in the forest regions of southern Chile.

Alone we are SMEs. Together we are PymeMad.
