Víctor Sandoval, president of PymeMad Biobío-Ñuble and a member of the Biobío Madera Governance, participated in the strategic meeting that brought together representatives from Desarrolla Biobío, the Regional Government of Biobío (GORE), and the main productive guilds linked to the regional strategic program.
The meeting addressed the program's focus on small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector, emphasizing the reduction of operational costs, lowering market entry barriers, and creating enabling platforms for their development. Representatives from the Chilean Chamber of Construction of Concepción and Los Ángeles, CORMA, and PymeMad participated in the session, as key stakeholders in the advancement of the regional strategic plan.
"We received a very positive reception from Desarrolla Biobío and the representative of the Regional Government, Carolina Godoy. They committed to participating more actively in the program and to evaluating how GORE can provide direct support, understanding that the program seeks the development of the industry and support for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in wood, construction, and the entire ecosystem linked to modern construction methods," highlighted Sandoval.
During the session, the prototype of the first carbon-neutral social housing developed by the University of Concepción and the San Pedro de la Paz Small Condominium project were presented, initiatives aligned with the sustainability challenges the sector is promoting.
Sandoval's participation in this session reaffirms PymeMad's commitment to positioning SMEs as strategic actors in the productive transformation of the regional forestry-timber sector.
