Lorena Vargas, vice president of PymeMad Biobío-Ñuble, participated in the first session of the Governance of the "Industrialized Housing Construction" Integrated Territorial Program (PTI) in the Ñuble Region, promoted by Corfo and the Regional Productive Development Committee.
The guild leader assumed her role as a member of the Governance's Strategic Board of the program, a body that brings together representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors to drive the transformation of the housing industry in the region. Additionally, Vargas will join Technical Table No. 3, focused on Regulations, Standards, Raw Materials, and Supply.
The PTI has a budget of $139 million for its first year and aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the construction industry through the adoption of modern construction methods, promoting sustainability, efficiency, and the reduction of time and costs.
"In the realm of this project's sustainability, wood plays a fundamental role," Vargas emphasized, highlighting the strategic importance of the timber sector in the sustainable construction challenges facing the country.
The program aligns with national industrialized construction policies, which seek to reduce the housing deficit through higher quality homes, lower environmental impact, and more efficient construction processes.
PymeMad's participation in this initiative reaffirms the guild's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the construction industry, positioning timber SMEs as strategic players in the industrialized housing production chain.
