PymeMad Nacional congratulates President-elect José Antonio Kast and expresses its willingness to collaborate constructively with the new administration to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the forestry-timber sector.

The small and medium-sized forestry sector, which represents 80% of employment in the forestry industry and is crucial for the local economies of the southern macro-zone, faces significant challenges that require priority attention. PymeMad trusts that the appointments in the Ministry of Agriculture and the agencies on which the forestry sector depends will fall to individuals who understand the economic dynamics of our industry, and offers its experience and knowledge to collaborate in this effort.

"Chile needs the economy to take off again, and we believe that this takeoff must be built from the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the ones that generate employment, roots, and opportunities in the territories," stated Michel Esquerré, national president of PymeMad.

Among the priority issues for the upcoming period are safety for forestry workers and operations, fair integration into the productive chain, access to specialized financing, modernization of the SME classification system, and a regulatory framework that strengthens the role of SMEs in regional development.

PymeMad reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of the country and trusts that collaborative work with the new Government will enable progress toward a safer and more productive future.
